Princess Grace Sports and Exercise Medicine

The Princess Grace Hospital is establishing a new sports and exercise medicine unit. It brings together a pool of leading medical practitioners to offer state-of-the-art sports and exercise medicine services.

Our practitioners include orthopaedic surgeons, sports physicians, radiologists, and allied medical personnel, who work together using a unique team approach to deliver the very best in care.

Sports and exercise medicine concentrates on a variety of disciplines including musculoskeletal medicine, management of soft tissue pathology, acute and overuse injury and illness including athletic underperformance. Patients range from professional sports people and elite athletes to the recreational weekend warrior.

Sports and exercise medicine has gained specialist status in the UK. Our sports physicians are an ideal first point of contact to offer accurate and timely diagnosis and referral to the appropriate specialty should this be needed. They have undergone specific training to deal with the soft tissue aspects of musculoskeletal medicine, and recognise the need for orthopaedic surgical intervention where necessary.

With direct access to the extensive facilities of the diagnostic and surgical services of the Princess Grace Hospital, patients receive comprehensive care at every stage of treatment, from screening through to diagnostic imaging, surgical diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.
