Services and Facilities - General and Liaison Psychiatry Unit
The unit has a special interest in treating patients with somataform disorder and medical conditions with co-morbid psychiatric disorders.
There are four principal admitting psychiatrists with substantial experience in complex liaison psychiatry problems.
- Dr G Libby - General/Liaison Psychiatry and Gastroenterology
- Dr J Basquille - Liaison Psychiatry
- Dr W Shanahan - General Psychiatry, Substance Abuse and Dependency
- Dr I Ebrahim - Neuropsychiatry, Sleep Disorders and Liaison Psychiatry
Dr J Gomborone, a Cognitive Behavioural Psychologist, leads and co-ordinates behavioural programs designed to integrate with the pharmacological and physical rehabilitation programme.
An experienced clinical nursing team; a small group of SPR's and a Clinical Research Fellow supports the admitting consultants; along with physiotherapy, dietician, yoga instruction and occupational therapy as required.
