Pharmacy
Our hospital pharmacy offers a pharmaceutical service to both inpatients and outpatients covering:
- Inpatient medicine supply
- Clinical pharmacy
- Discharge medicine supply and counselling (upon request)
- Medicines information
- Sourcing unlicensed and discontinued medicines
- Dispensing private prescriptions (note NHS prescriptions cannot be dispensed)
- Over-the-counter sales of non-prescription medicines
HCA Medication Policy
The HCA Medication Management Policy provides a framework to ensure best practice within all HCA hospitals. It is be used in conjunction with corporate and local policies and procedures, such as the Antibiotic Guidelines. A copy of the policy can be found on our website on the Consultants pages and is also available on request from the Pharmacy Manager. In particular please refer to Section 1.0: Medicine Prescribing.
