Regulation & accreditation
Regulation
The Princess Grace Hospital is regulated by the Care Quality Commission in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and inspected regularly against National Minimum Standards (Department of Health 2002). The Care Quality Commission is the independent regulator of health and social care, whether provided by NHS, local authorities, private companies or voluntary organisations. A copy of their annual inspection report for The Princess Grace Hospital is available on their website.
Accreditation
We are proud of our accreditation to internationally recognised quality frameworks of Healthcare Accreditation and Quality Unit (HAQU) ISO 9001:2000. HAQU is a quality management process enabling healthcare organisations to examine themselves critically against a nationally recognised framework of organisational standards. The HAQU programme links to other national and international quality programmes and regulations including ISO9001:2000 and the National Minimum Care Standards.
Individual services at the hospital have also achieved accreditation in recognition of the high levels of care they provide, namely our BUPA Accredited Breast Assessment Unit and colorectal work.
The Princess Grace Hospital achieved Hospitality Assured status in 2006 and has successfully reaccredited each year improving our compliance. This prestigious, internationally recognised, industry-specific standard for delivering service and business excellence in the hospitality industry - for its hotel services.
