Biography

Mr Patki is a full time Consultant Urological Surgeon and The Clinical Lead in Urology at St. Bartholomew and The Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust.

After Mr Patki's primary medical qualification he completed his higher surgical training in General Surgery and he stood first in the University with a Gold medal in Masters in Surgery. A speciality training programme in Urology led to Diplomate of National Boards in genitourinary surgery. After success in competitive national training selection at The London Deanery Mr Patki completed the Urology training in North Thames rotation, culminating in a fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Urology. He also holds a fellowship of European Board of Urology.

Mr Patki's research in fertility in spinal cord injury patients at the London Spinal Cord Injuries Centre RNOH Stanmore (UCL) led to a successful vibro-ejaculation service for spinal injury patients. He has presented and published many scientific papers and written 10 invited reviews, letters and book chapters on variety of urological conditions.

In addition to specialising in the care of wide spectrum of general urological conditions such as urological stone disease, overactive bladder, LUTS , incontinence and neuro-urology, Mr Patki's subspecialist interest is urologic oncology, specifically renal cancer. He has established the laparoscopic renal cancer surgical service at St. Batholomew and The Royal London Hospital and leads the renal cancer surgical pathway at The Royal London hospital. He is an honorary renal cancer surgeon at the Royal Free NHS Trust.

Mr Patki is a Faculty member of Chitra Sethia Laparoscopic and Robotic Training centre UCL and a founder member of Chelmsford Imperial Robotic Simulation (CIRS) Training Team involved in training in crisis management, communication and team working for robotic and laparoscopic surgical teams.
