Mr Noorani qualified from the Imperial College School of Medicine (London) in the year 2000. He completed his Orthopaedic and Trauma training on the prestigious Royal London Hospital rotation and has further specialised in Upper Limb Surgery including Trauma. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Tr and Orth) in 2009.

He undertook further Specialist Fellowship training in Shoulder, Elbow and Upper Limb Surgery at the world-renowned Upper Limb fellowship programme at The Royal Liverpool Hospital. The Liverpool Upper Limb Unit Fellowship is one of best in the country specialises in complex arthroscopic shoulder surgery and upper limb trauma surgery.

This complements his 16 months during his training at Stanmore with the Shoulder and Elbow Service where the bulk of the work was complex revision Arthroplasty and Instability and at the Peripheral Nerve Injury Unit. This was in addition to his one year experience in Upper Limb Surgery including complex trauma at the Royal London. He has further 14 months of Upper Limb and Hand Surgery experience as a trainee.

Currently, Mr Noorani also works at St Bartholomew's and Royal London Hospital (Barts Health NHS) as a substantive Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon, specialising in trauma and upper limb surgery.

He has used the LEAN methodology to streamline the patient journey in the upper limb service. He has introduced several innovative pathways, including a one-stop clinic where patient assessment, radiological investigations, pre-admission, and scheduling can all be done within 24 hours. Under his leadership, the upper limb service has acquired state of the art surgical equipment to provide patients with the optimal treatment. He has also introduced a therapy clinic, along with rehabilitation protocols, and patient information sheets for upper limb procedures to ensure patients receive timely and effective post-operative physiotherapy.

He is the founding member of the Royal London Orthopaedic and Trauma Society and the Barts Orthopaedic Fund. Mr Noorani is also the official doctor for the National Basketball Association (NBA).

His special interests include:
* Shoulder Instability including Traumatic, Atraumatic, and Muscle Patterning Instability (Multidirectional Instability)
* Sports Injuries with a special interest in treatment of the Shoulder and Elbow Sports Injuries
* Management of Rotator Cuff Injuries and Frozen Shoulder
* Arthroscopy of the Shoulder, Elbow, and Wrist
* Shoulder Arthroplasty (Primary and Revision)
* Elbow Arthroplasty (Primary and Revision)
* Hand and Wrist Surgery including a MDT approach to carpal tunnel syndrome
* Trauma with a special interest in Upper Limb Trauma including Clavicle/ACJ/Scapula/Proximal Humerus, Elbow, Hand and Wrist injuries.
* Management of Early Onset Arthritis
* Rehabilitation of the Shoulder and Elbow

Mr Noorani is on the education board of the European Society for Shoulder and Elbow Rehabilitation and is an active member of both the British Shoulder and Elbow Society and the British Orthopaedic Association. In addition, he is a member of the British Medical Association and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons.

Mr Noorani is well published in peer-reviewed journals and has carried out research in several areas including instability. Currently, he is the principle investigator on several multicentre randomised controlled trials. He is also on the review board for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.

Mr Noorani was born in London and educated at Tonbridge School, where he was an art and academic scholar. His spare time is spent with his family, or on his hobbies of painting and photography.

Mr Noorani's strongly believes that his primary role is to offer an accurate assessment and a precise diagnosis. Shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist symptoms are common and many patients and therapists often need reassurance and explanations for the problems they are experiencing. Mr Noorani believes strongly in a multidisciplinary approach to treatment of these problems. Very few people actual require surgery. Patients need to know that they are seeing someone who they trust and who understands and specialises in their problem.
