Miss Sarah Muirhead-Allwood BSc (Hons) MB BS FRCS is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon who has twenty-five years of experience as a specialist hip surgeon. She operates exclusively on hips, performing hundreds of hip replacements and resurfacings a year. She specialises in complex hip revisions and unusual hip replacements.
At the present time depending on the requirements of the patient and their age different options of hip replacement are available at The London Hip Unit. These including metal-metal hip resurfacing, some short stem conventional hip replacements and ceramic on ceramic bearing surfaced hip replacements in addition to the more common metal on plastic bearing surfaced hip.
The aim is to provide the best combination of established techniques and cutting edge medical advances to provide every patient with the best outcome.
