Going home - Inpatients

When you have agreed with your consultant that you are ready to go home, you will be given a date and time for leaving the hospital. This enables you to make arrangements for a friend or relative to collect you. We kindly request that you leave your room by10.00 am. Please ensure that you liaise with the nursing staff.

Take home medicines

If you have any take home medicines to collect from the hospital pharmacy, make sure that you allow time to do this before you leave the hospital.

Please ensure any medicines you brought in with you are returned to you before you go home

Settling your 'extras' account

Take home medication and all non-medical expenses such as phone calls, newspapers and visitors' meals will be charged separately and you will be asked to settle this account on the day of your departure. Please visit the Cashier's Office on the ground floor before you leave the hospital.

Transport

We recommend that you arrange for friends or relatives to collect you. If you need a taxi, the main reception will be able to arrange one for you. Our staff will also be happy to assist with your luggage. If necessary, we can make arrangements for you to be taken home by ambulance.

Insurance forms

If your treatment has been covered by insurance, please make sure that your consultant signs your claim forms before you leave or as soon as possible afterwards.
