What should I do before the Implant?
If you are taking any anticoagulant (blood thinning) medications or aspirin you should stop taking them two weeks before the procedure. If you suffer from diabetes and? or? have cardiac problems you should inform us early in the consultation process. Any other conditions that you believe may influence the safety of the procedure should also be declared.
You will be admitted to the hospital the day before the planned implant date as the procedure requires general anaesthesia. You will need to fast for 6 hours prior to the implant. To ensure clear imaging of the prostate for the implantation you will be provided with oral medication that will gently cleanse the bowel.
